Pasta Sauce with GF Meatballs

Ingredients:

4 TBSP minced garlic

1 small sweet onion, minced (this day I had some leftover green onions I included)

2 TBSP olive oil

(Sautee until onions are translucent)

 Add:

28 oz can San Marzano tomatoes (blend until smooth with the following tomato sauce and paste. I use my Ninja blender, but you can use an immersion blender or food processor)

15 oz can tomato sauce

6 oz can tomato paste

1 TBSP table salt (more or less to taste)

3 TBSP sugar (we like this amount which does not create a sweet sauce, but cuts the acidity of the tomatoes. Use more of less per your taste.)

1/2 cup dry red wine

2 tsp dried oregano (or 2 TBSP minced fresh)

2 tsp dried basil (or 2 TBSP minced fresh)

1 bay leaf

Fresh ground pepper to taste

Crushed pepper flakes to taste

Combine all in a pot or deep sautee pan. Add GF meatballs (I use half of the meatballs from the recipe). Cover and simmer on low for at least 3 hours, stirring occasionally, and serve with GF pasta of your choice. My favorite store brand pastas are Jovial and Tinkyada.
